The Rhumb Line

Ra Ra Riot, a band out of the blooming scene of Syracuse, NY, is about to commence on another tour supporting the 2008 release of their debut album, “The Rhumb Line.” Starting at the Bowery Ballroom in NYC this coming Thursday, they will be opening for acclaimed female pianist and vocalist– Regina Spektor. Ra Ra is scheduled to open for Andrew Bird at the Theatre of Living Arts in Philadelphia, Pa that following Sunday, where The Calcutta will be sitting down with the band for an interview before the show. These guys and girls are an exciting, young new band that will no doubt blow the minds of listeners.

Here’s a music video for their song “Ghost Under Rocks,” released on “The Rhumb Line.

Also, check out their Myspace page and Andrew Maury’s (Ra Ra Riot’s live sound engineer) blog, “On The Road With Ra Ra Riot“, about his time with the band on their most recent tour in 2008.

Speaking of Andrew, he and Andre from RAC(Remix Artist Collective) stopped by The Calcutta this week to give some insight on what exactly they do at RAC. These guys are among the top remix artists out there today.

Here are some RAC remixes courtesy of Andrew Maury. They’re free, so check em out.
